Mr Mike Tappin is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in corneal disease, cataract surgery, and laser vision correction. He graduated from St Mary’s Medical School in London and completed specialist training in ophthalmology, including fellowships in corneal and refractive surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, Australia.
He is a founding member and director of LaserVision and also holds an NHS consultant position at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. Mr Tappin is recognised for pioneering advanced surgical techniques, including being the first surgeon in the UK to perform endothelial cell transplantation (DMEK) in 2005.
His expertise includes laser eye surgery, lens replacement, complex cataract procedures, and corneal transplantation
